Here is what you do: Paint most of it to match the bottom half of the NES, EXCEPT for where the black stripe comes in for the controller ports. That spot on the acrylic, you really should paint to match the stripe, otherwise it looks just god awful no matter what you do to it. Keeping the color pattern matching perfectly will give you 99% of what you originally sought: a PC in a NES, plain and simple. Now, regarding that huge fugly gap at the bottom: No, just no, don't leave it like that. Please, for the love of god, use some acetone mix to melt some plastic, use your fingers to carefully mold it into place before it rehardens, and then use a very tiny drill bit on a drill, and drill a ton of tiny holes all along the underside. There's absolutely no reason you need some huge friggin' gap like that, when a series of holes is much better. Not only is cooling much more evenly distributed but it also lets much less moisture, dust, etc through. If you're concerned about a ton of tiny holes not being good enough for cooling, then install some cheap 5 volt fans into the NES's original cooling vents at the top of the shell near the black stripe. Make sure they're aimed outwards, and that the only way the NES can take air back in is from the underside, and voila.
